I was born and raised in Korea and now live abroad. Experiencing Korea from both the inside and outside has shaped the way I write. I understand the cultural details that Korean viewers may take for granted, but I also recognize the questions international viewers often have.
I started this blog because I enjoy looking beyond the surface of Korean films and television series. I want to know what inspired it, what its cultural references mean, what it reveals about Korean society, and where its stories take place.
I am especially interested in the subjects that connect entertainment with real life. That might mean exploring the Korean folklore behind a supernatural drama, examining a social issue reflected in a series, uncovering the difficult journey an actor took before becoming successful, or visiting the real locations seen on screen. Having lived abroad for many years, writing this blog also gives me an opportunity to stay updated on trending issues in Korea.
